Getting onto the sea during the winter time can be tricky due mostly to the prevailing winter sea conditions, colder shorter days and only having one tide during the daytime to work with. We run a wilderness inland kayaking trip at this time of year linking slow moving rivers and lakes which can sometimes work out better than the sea during the winter and early spring time.
We tend not to use sit on kayaks during the winter as people are more exposed to the elements on these kayaks, so it’s more likely that the sit in touring kayaks would be used for these tours.
Each session lasts approximately 2.5hrs. Cost of trips is €40 per person. The inland kayak trips are not suitable for young children.
– All trips are weather dependent. There are no set times for the inland kayaking trips. Locations / venues and start times for the trips are changeable and flexible due to prevailing weather conditions at the time.
-We supply all necessary equipment required for the trips, including wetsuits and footwear. Wetsuit sizes go up to size XL, and the max paddler weight limit for the sit in touring kayaks is 95kg.
-As we start our kayak trips from different locations we do not have proper available changing facilities.
-All you are required to bring along with you is a snack/drink and a towel.
-All instructors are fully updated, trained, qualified and insured.
-To book for the trips (please leave your details including number of participants and tel.no) which can be made through the contacts page of this website or by email to firstname.lastname@example.org
-Rapid Kayaking cannot take any responsibility for people’s personal equipment eg watches, phones, cameras, rings etc which they may bring along on a trip.
